Kid's Health Fair & Fall Festival

Magnolia Regional Medical Center invites area children to attend a Fall Festival and Kid's Health Fair event on Monday, October 29th from 3:00pm - 6:00pm.  The event will take place at the LifeSmart Center, located at 1005 N Jackson.

The event will feature free pumpkin decorating as well as face painting, a bounce house, and tours of emergency vehicles.

Education booths will be provided by Magnolia Regional Medical Center, Magnolia Police Department, Magnolia Fire Department, Smiles of Arkansas, Columbia County Ambulance Service, AHEC - South Arkansas, AR Children's Burn Unit, Columbia County Health Unit, Serenity Hospice, Kid's First, Quota of Magnolia, and the MHS Nursing Assistant Program.

Attendees will be eligible to win door prizes.

The event is for children ages 3-10.  All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Nurses Complete Training

Magnolia Regional Medical Center graduated four nurses from the Intensive Coronary Care Course on Thursday.  Amber Kestler, Alma Turner, Paula Sweet and Jennifer Hawkins each completed the six-week course and received a certificate of completion and recognition pin from Joycelyn Watkins, Chief Nursing Officer.

The course serves as a prerequisite to the Advanced Cardiac Life Support class, and was taught by Kim Ainsworth.  During the class the nurses focused of the anatomy and physiology of the heart and treatment of coronary arteries.  They gained advanced knowledge in the treatment of heart attacks as well as interpretation of EKG.

Jackson Named Employee of the Month

Anita Jackson has been named the Employee of the Month for October at Magnolia Regional Medical Center.

Jackson has been with MRMC for just over a year and works as an Admissions Clerk primarily in the Emergency Department.

In a ceremony held Tuesday afternoon, MRMC CEO Margaret West gave high praises for Jackson for her outstanding customer service and her dedication to the organization.

Anita Jackson has three children and serves as a Youth Minister with her church.  She is involved in the lives of her own children as well as her youth group members.
